DR MAMORETSI MAGASHULE


Dr Mamoretsi Magashule is a Specialist Physician with her private practice at Life Mercantile Hospital in Port-Elizabeth.

Dr M M Magashule was born in Alexandra township in Johannesburg. She grew up in the village named of Uitkyk in the Northwest province. She matriculated in 1985 at Maphiradira High school, after which she registered for the Bachelor of Diagnostic Radiography (B Rad(Diagn)) degree at the Medical University of Southern Africa (Medunsa), now known as Sefako Makgatho University (SMU), which she obtained in 1989.

She worked as a Radiographer for 6 years before going back to Medunsa in 1996 to pursue a new career line. She registered and studied for a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and obtained both degrees (MBChB) in 2001.

She did her Internship training and community service at Klerksdorp/Tshepong Hospital Complex (KTC) and worked as a medical officer before joining the University of Witwatersrand to specialize in Internal Medicine field.

Dr Magashule received training as a registrar in Internal Medicine at the University of Witwatersrand. She obtained a Fellowship certificate from the College of Physicians of South Africa (FCP(SA)) through Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) in 2018.

Throughout her career, Dr Magashule worked in various hospitals in the Northwest and Gauteng provinces. She is currently working for the Gauteng department of health, based at Tembisa hospital, and will be relocating to Port Elizabeth in March 2019 to practice as a Physician at Life Mercantile private hospital.
